Crosscare Youth Services Photo Competition
To celebrate the values of Europe Day, we invited young people within Crosscare Youth Service, to participate in a photography competition.
The theme of the competition was Peace and Unity. We invited young people to submit photographs that capture what peace and unity in Europe means to them. This exciting opportunity challenged young people to express their creativity and connect with like-minded individuals.
The competition was run on a local level through Crossare Youth Services. Many wonderful entries to the competition were received and the judging panel from Crosscare Youth Information Services had the difficult task picking the 3 winners.
Winner 1 - Circle of Unity
The picture I chose is a picture that my friends and I took on the last day of school. This represents peace and unity extremely well as all of us were together, and spending our last school day making a load of memories, this picture represents peace as whenever we’re together we always have so much fun together, even just sitting in silence gives me a sense of peace.

Winner 2 - Natural Unity
Unity is all around us in the simple things – the photo captures a conversation among friends observing the natural beauty in the valley. Conversations like these show a simple but vital bridge of unity between people in a way we can all apply to our own lives to help bring people together.

Winner 3 - Peace by the sea.
This is my favourite place to relax, as it is peaceful and quiet and clears my mind of stresses and everyday problem. Love sound of waves.
