Artificial Intelligence

This month we will look at AI (Artificial Intelligence)  – Embrace the cool tech, but also ask the tough questions and equip yourself with knowledge to ensure it empowers rather than undermines you!

This month also is Leaving Cert Result time – so we will provide useful information and links to our Leaving Cert Hub.

Eyrica – Bright Side, Dark Side campaign:

slide the arrows to highlight both the benefits and challenges of AI, and its impact on daily life while shedding light on its potential downsides.

Artificial Intelligence (AI)

is no longer just science fiction, it’s part of your everyday life. From voice assistants like Gemini to social media algorithms recommending what you watch or listen to, AI is everywhere. It helps with schoolwork, personalises your feeds, and even powers self-driving cars.

As AI becomes smarter, should we be concerned? What happens when machines make decisions that affect people’s jobs, privacy, or even mental health? For example, some worry about AI replacing human workers, spreading misinformation, or reinforcing bias in ways that go unnoticed.

You are growing up in a world where AI is shaping the future fast. So it’s important to stay informed and think critically about how you use it. The future of AI isn’t just about machines, it’s about how you choose to use them. It is also important to know AI models can sometimes generate incorrect information too.
